Meeting Details

LocationHarrisburg, Pennsylvania

Asphalt pavement recycling technologies are generally cost-effective and environmentally-friendly. They help to conserve natural resources, minimize greenhouse gases, and maximize agency dollars. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Asphalt Recycling and Reclaiming Association (ARRA ) hosted a three day workshop on In-Place Recycling in Harrisburg, PA on August 24-26, 2010 to promote the benefits of these technologies. The workshop, the third in a series of planned regional recycling showcases, attracted over 100 pavement professionals representing State and Local DOTs, FHWA, academia, contractors, and suppliers from throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The event provided an excellent forum to showcase Hot In-Place Recycling (HIR), Cold In-Place recycling (CIR), and Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) processes, techniques, and best practices. The workshop featured a field visit to a projects that was being constructed E.J. Breneman Inc. Participants were able to get a close-up look at a Cold In-place Recycling project using emulsion to recycling the existing roadway.

Each workshop presentation was captured by NCPP staff using state of the art digital recording, so please click the play button to watch, or download the presentation in PDF format, if available.
